Soft Light

Serenity Project - February 2018

Welcome to our Serenity Project for the month of February 2018. The Serenity project is a collaborative photography project in which we want to share images that convey peace and calm.

There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.
— Leonard Cohen

I love working in my little "studio". I can manipulate the light from the window to my taste. Lately I have not only been drawn to back-light, but also to dappled light. This past weekend I photographed in my "studio" to work with the dappled light. And I also worked on a new technique for me: double exposure. Here are some images that are my favorites from the weekend...

2017 Favorite Macro Images - Considering Light

In 2017, I really wanted to hone in on my macro photography. Macro photography is a place of zen for me. It makes me slow down; it clears my mind and it is a great stress reducer. I have also worked on using light in different ways; not only photographing in harsh/strong light, but soft and directional light

I am so grateful to my macro teacher/instructor and friend, Tiffany Kelly of Tiffany Kelly Photography, to be patient with me. I cannot believe that I took her workshop almost 2 years ago. It was one of the best investments I have made for myself.

There are always two people in every picture: the photographer and the viewer.

Macro Monday ~ Volume 25

A new year, a new hope. I am not sure what that a new year always makes us feel a new beginning. But I live by the motto that every day is a new beginning. However, with a new year beginning, I have some new goals set. One of them is to refine my style and work finding my 'voice' in the photography world. One thing I know for sure is that I want to work toward working with more models. That is where where my heart always has been. We will see what happens. No matter what will happen in 2017, macro photography will always have a big place in my heart. So, today I am sharing one my images that I took earlier this month. The time was right before sunset, and I like the soft light right before sundown.
