Serenity Project - May 2018

Welcome to our Serenity Project for the month of May 2018. The Serenity project is a collaborative photography project in which we want to share images that convey peace and calm.

Not sure that I can say that I am calm this month. Actually April-May has been a whirlwind for me. I am so giddy on one hand, but on the other hand I haven't had time to photograph much this month. I will share about the giddy part later this week.

Work has been very stressful too, but that is not my main excuse for not photographing much. I am currently enrolled in Anna Larson's food photography class, and I am working on my assignments. I have to say I applaud all the food photographers out there; styling a food image is not easy.

With this being said, I had to dip in to my archive of images for this month. Ranunculus (also knows at Buttercup), are one of my favorite flowers to photograph. Their layers are perfect for macro photography.

Macro Monday ~ Volume 29

Welcome to Marco Monday - Volume 29. Most often I do my macro work with my Tamron 90mm macro lens. From time to time I like to challenge myself. So, without further adue, here are my images for Macro Monday. My choice this week were the Edge 80 with builtin macro, and the Sweet 50 with Macro converters. First up is an image with the Lensbaby Edge 80 and its build in macro converter:

Settings: SS 1/1000 - f4 - ISO 125

For the second image I used my Sweet 50 with the Macro Converter. I wanted something really dreamy, so I set the aperture to 2.8. My intended focus was just on one of the nearest to me petal.

Settings: SS 1/250 - 2.8 - ISO 125

Macro Monday ~ Volume 21

Welcome to Macro Monday ~ Volume 21! Obviously living in Arizona is not the best place to create fall like images. In other words, I need to get creative. We have two orange trees in our backyard with a couple of dead branches. Prior to sun going down, I want in to the backyard to photograph one of the leafs. macro-monday-21

Macro Monday ~ Volume 16

Welcome to Macro Monday - Volume 16. For starters, I did it again. I wanted to stay away from red flowers, however the daisies were too beautiful to pass up. So I worked with shadow and light this time around. The backside of the flower is very interesting and more yellow than red. macro-monday-16
