Serenity Project - March 2018

Welcome to our Serenity Project for the month of March 2018. The Serenity project is a collaborative photography project in which we want to share images that convey peace and calm.

If you have been following my work, my little studio has become my place of serenity. Over the last three months I have created more images than ever at the beginning of any given year. Ask my hubby; I spend a lot of time in that space.

One thing that I love photographing (pretty much since I started digital photography) is food or food related items. I do still struggle with styling my food, but I am getting there. My hope is that I will be able to sign up for Anna Christine Larson's Illuminate class, to get some tips on how to style me food better.

At any rate, this month I wanted to share with you what I created a couple weeks ago. When I grew up, Sunday afternoons were down times with coffee and cake. I miss that greatly. So, I created some images with some mini cupcakes and photos of my mom and sister to remember these Sunday afternoons.

Thank you for stopping by today; until next time, keep calm and find a space you can call you own to create some images.

Sunday - Mini Cupcakes

First off: the image that I submitted for our Sunday Group Project was not the one I had planned in my head. However, sometimes we need to adjust our plans to make a decent image.

One of our favorite local grocery stores (they only exist in Arizona), has one of the best bakeries in town. The bakery of AJ's Fine Foods is always busy on weekends. I spotted these little cupcakes before, and today I finally purchased some of them. Oh, they are so yummy (and cute). They are called "My Dad's Mini Cupcakes". They come in different varieties: red velvet cake, chocolate, vanilla, and so many more. If you are every in Arizona, not only call me to have a meet-up, but visit AJ's Fine Foods' bakery. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

Stressed is Desserts spelled backwards - so eat your dessert first.
