Serenity Project - July 2017

Welcome to our Serenity Project for the month of July 2017. The Serenity project is a collaborative photography project in which we want to share images that convey peace and calm.

“We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorns have roses.” Alphonse Karr

As it is still very warm outside here in Arizona, I have to photograph indoors. As I have stated before, it is not my favorite. However I am making the best of it. Surprisingly shooting indoors has opened up my eyes to see the light better and how it impacts my images. As a result I challenged myself to photograph the white roses in different ways by moving them around. Here is what I came up with with the same subject, three different ways. The three images have all been taken with the Lensbaby, Velvet 56.

Thank you for stopping by today. Until next time, keep calm, keep smiling, and let serenity be part of your daily life.

Serenity Project - April 2017

Welcome to my first participation of the Serenity Project. Up to the present time, I only followed this beautiful, monthly project. This changed last week when my photography friend Nadeen Flynn invited me to be part of this project. You may wonder what the project is all about. It is a collaborative photography project in which we want to share images that convey peace and calm. With this project in mind, I want to share some of my favorite images I took over the past month. Given that the macro lens is on my camera 50% of the time, lately I have been using my Lensbaby optics more often. Together with my macro extender and the Sweet 35/50, my belief is that these images convey peace and calm.

This last image was taking after the Sunrise service at our church on Easter Sunday. The light coming in on the right of image, mesmerized me...

Until next time,

Macro Monday ~ Volume 29

Welcome to Marco Monday - Volume 29. Most often I do my macro work with my Tamron 90mm macro lens. From time to time I like to challenge myself. So, without further adue, here are my images for Macro Monday. My choice this week were the Edge 80 with builtin macro, and the Sweet 50 with Macro converters. First up is an image with the Lensbaby Edge 80 and its build in macro converter:

Settings: SS 1/1000 - f4 - ISO 125

For the second image I used my Sweet 50 with the Macro Converter. I wanted something really dreamy, so I set the aperture to 2.8. My intended focus was just on one of the nearest to me petal.

Settings: SS 1/250 - 2.8 - ISO 125

Lensbaby Art - Blog Circle - May 2016

It is time for another Lensbaby Art Blog Circle - May 2016 edition. I hope you have time to visit some of my friends on this blog circle. I truly enjoy shooting with the Lensbaby Sweet 35. It took me some time to enjoy this lens, but once I got the hang of it, it is so much fun. I like it because it gives you a sense of movement.

My hubby and I ventured out to Scottsdale this past weekend. We shoot there often, but this time I only had my LB Sweet 35 on my Canon 6D. So here are my 5 images for the month of May:

Lensbaby Art - Blog Circle - April 2016

I got together with some photography friends from Clickin Moms to start a Lensbaby Art monthly blog circle. We all are enjoying to photograph with the Lensbaby and thought it might be fun to get together once a month to share our art with the photography community and lovers of art. April 2016 will mark the first month of our blog circle and we hope you enjoy the art we are creating with our photography.

All my images are shot with the Lensbaby Sweet 35 and the macro converters. Some are photographed at 16mm macro and some with 24mm:
